Sara Jo Slate, Ed. M.Homeschool GuideSara Jo (she/her) (B.A. Wellesley College, secondary social studies certification, Ed. M. Harvard University Graduate School of Education) is an experienced educator and homeschool parent. With thirteen years of experience homeschooling her two children and a background in classroom teaching and youth leadership, Sara Jo loves helping homeschool families find their rhythm, get organized, and learn to embrace the freedom of the homeschool lifestyle. Highlights of her career as an educator include establishing an in-school alternative program at Grants Pass High School, working with Boston youth to promote school reform through the Center for Teen Empowerment, and teaching at an elementary school in Morocco. Most recently, she served as director of the Jewish Community School of Central Oregon. In her free time, Sara Jo loves to dance and write ballet curricula. She has choreographed for both the Metropolitan Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. |
Jenny Lyn Beals-WrightHomeschool GuideJenny (she/her) (B.A. Cal State Fullerton, history and secondary social science/language arts certification) is an enthusiastic teacher and loving momma of two boys whom she has educated at home from the beginning. Jenny has over a decade of teaching experience. She taught social studies in a title one middle school in Southern California. In addition to teaching U.S. and world history, she worked with the speech and debate club, organized pep rallies, and choreographed musicals at a local high school. She also spent a few years teaching advanced placement psychology at an all girls private school. For two decades, Jenny has educated the public through living history projects. Her hobbies include researching and performing historical folk music, homesteading, and child psychology. She is passionate about working with families to creatively plan their children’s education adventure. |
